Serving society with top priority given to trust and safety
Hitachi Nico Transmission Co., Ltd. was established in 2003. Its company principles read: "As a reliable company of our customers, Hitachi Nico Transmissions Co., Ltd. contributes to the society through technology and quality." In accordance with these principles, we have been working to increase efficiency of drive systems by supplying and servicing gearboxes, clutches and other power transmission equipment as we seek to bolster environmental value and economic value. Nico is a brand name that derives from the abbreviation of our predecessor Niigata Converter Co., Ltd. It has earned the confidence from a large number of customers as a symbol of high quality.
We define power transmission equipment for marine applications, for rail applications and for general industrial machinery as our main business domains. At present, we are focusing on developing different gearboxes for environmentally friendly vessels and rolling stock, torque converters, reduction gearboxes for private gas-turbine power generators for data centers and other products and services, all with a view to achieving sustained growth.
We set a target in the Mid-term Management Plan of surpassing 20 billion yen in revenues for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2028. We will work to make the long-lasting ties with U.S.-based Twin Disc, Inc. stronger than ever and expand our overseas business with the use of its global network of sales and maintenance services in the marine applications sector. We will also expand recurring business in which we offer after-sales services using technologies to support customers' businesses throughout their product lifecycles. We will carry out these activities to meet the target mentioned above.
In the era of intensifying uncertainty, we will respond sensitively to changes in society, markets and customers without being constrained by stereotypes to create new products and services one after another. Our strength lies in our customized design capabilities for flexibly meeting customers' requirements. We will improve this capability to continue our expansion. As a member of the Hitachi Group, we will also make positive environmental investments aimed at achieving carbon neutrality in 2030.
We will put safety and reliability first and continue our growth as a company that supplies products essential to society.
I hope you will look forward to our actions towards advancement.
