Hitachi Nico axle drive gearbox shall adopt the spiral bevel gear of the Klingelnberg system, tooth surface of which is ultra-hard finished (hard cut) after carburizing by means of CBN cutter developed by Klingelnberg taking the initiative in the field. And strength and form of gearbox shall be checked up by FEM (finite element method) so as to secure rigidity of gearbox applicable to the higher speed railway vehicle.
Features
- Capability to transmit the load is now improved, compared with the Gleason system, and the gearbox shall be of light weight and compact.
- Ultra-hard finish adopted has made the form of tooth touch equal and led to lower noise and vibration.
- Increased capability of transmitting the gear load and decreased vibration is expected to prolong the life of gearbox.
